Planning a KIDS Student Summit
| The planning process starts more than a year ahead of time with a proposal. Any educator involved with youth, using the KIDS model of service-learning, and willing to implement a student-led (service-learning) project is eligible to apply. The school is selected about a year and a half before the Summit they'll plan. |

The 2011 student planning team attended the 2010 Summit to observe. They participated in the closing circle to hear planners reflect on the project. The Lisbon Central School Student Summit planners had great advice for the 2011 Student Summit Planners from Pemetic Elementary School, Southwest Harbor, Maine on how to begin their planning back at school, working together in groups, and being flexible when the Summit actually begins. |

I loved being able to see other student projects and learning that other students are involved and concerned about issues in their communities .
