My KIDS experience was great! The institute last week has really helped me understand the standards and the various formats I can use to implement service-learning in my classroom. It has also expanded my ability to promote the
service-learning teaching strategy!
Kristy, MS Teacher - Lithia, FL
I very much enjoyed the Melbourne Institute. Barbara and Matt did a great job introducing, reinforcing and building long term comprehension of the KIDS framework. My knowledge and ability to implement effective service-learning in my district has been greatly enhanced.
The pace, informal energizers and formal group activities were well delivered and well planned and enhanced the internalization of the KIDS model.
Thanks for bringing the institute to Melbourne!
Elsa, Director Student Services-Tampa, FL

"I value service learning because it is real world learning. As the K-12 Education Liaison for UNUM during the 90's I saw just about every idea possible for the improvement of student learning outcomes because we were known as a source of funding for great ideas. Service-Learning, and KIDS Consortium in particular, were among those improvement efforts that delivered. Students and teachers were enthusiastic and engaged. I endorse the concept, but more importantly, the actual work and the results."

The KIDS Consortium Summer Institute was the very best course I've taken in many years! I am totally prepared to lead a service-learning project in my classroom or school and I also have many tools that I can use everyday.
