 The Summit Planners at Lisbon Central School in Lisbon, CT, carefully evaluated 64 applicants according to a rubric developed by KIDS Consortium
Green Schools 2010 Student Summit: Grantees will share their projects with other New England students at the 2010 Student Summit on May 25-26 at UNH. Teams are expected to pay a registration fee of $15.00 per person and transportation to the event.

Using the KIDS Model of Service-Learning, Projects solve a problem or address a local need related to making schools and neighborhoods healthier and more environmentally sustainable (e.g. reduce non-renewable energy consumption within schools and other community buildings; use fewer consumable products to both save energy and costs; promote outdoor green spaces and trails; use more locally grown food to reduce transportation costs and energy consumption and improve nutrition; improve air quality in and near schools, etc.)

Thank you for inviting our service-learning group to the 2009 Student Summit. It was awesome to learn and see how many schools are doing great things to help their communities. I liked the presentations the most. It was really fun earning flags so we could go from "Ordinary to Extraordinary!"
